Barcelona should not rekindle his persistent interest in Luis Diaz, the Liverpool star next month.

The Blaugrana are working to recruit a new striker to strengthen Hansi Flick's options for the 2025/26 season.

However, the club has only one objective for the moment: Nico Williams, the Athletic Club striker.

Barcelona has been in talks with the Basque winger since the end of the 2024/25 season, but no agreement has yet been concluded with the 22 -year -old.

The Catalans are ready to activate his release clause of 51 million pounds sterling at the San Mamés stadium, but the negotiations have lagged behind, Barcelona seeking a structured payment plan.

Diaz had already appeared in the Flick radar as an option to reach the club, the Colombian having indicated that he was open to a transfer.

However, despite the fears of Liverpool not to see him extend, the Premier League champion set a high price for the former Porto striker.

Luis Diaz was strongly mentioned in Barcelona. Liverpool would have been opened to an agreement of approximately 80 to 85 million euros for Diaz, an amount well higher than the ceiling of 60 million euros set by Barcelona.

Liverpool having not yet been transferred, Barcelona opted for Williams, and Arne Slot could now consider a new option for Diaz.

Liverpool has not yet noted sufficient progress from Diaz's entourage concerning his renewal projects and could still authorize a transfer this summer.

The club's management is determined to avoid a rehearsal of the “contractual chaos” of the start of the year, Mohamed Salah and Vigil Van Dijk having finally extended their contracts due.

Liverpool will not allow such a situation to happen again and, according to Diario Sport, Al Nassr is preparing a colossal offer to try to attract it far from Merseyside in July.
