Last weekend, Real Madrid and Pachuca were involved in controversy after Antonio Rudiger said he had been the victim of racist insults from Gustavo Cabral, the captain of the Mexican team.

Rudiger said that Cabral had treated him as “dirty negro”, but that was challenged by the Pachuca player, who said he called Real Madrid defender “Fucking coward”. An investigation was opened by FIFA, which has since focused on Cabral.

FIFA's survey does not yet confirm Antonio Rudiger's claims

The case is still underway, but Marca reported that at this stage, nothing proves that Cabral made racist remarks against Rudiger during the match last Sunday, which ended with a 3-1 victory of Real Madrid, reduced to 10 players.

FIFA said that it has examined all the stadium images from both live broadcasts and other possible cameras, but so far, nothing indicates that Cabral, which previously played for Celta Vigo, has uttered racist insults against Rudiger.

The next steps in the FIFA survey have been defined

The next step will consist in collecting the declarations of the persons involved, in order to determine if there are differences in relation to the version of the facts established during the first phase of the survey.

Real Madrid and Rudiger maintain that Cabral made racist remarks against the 32 -year -old, who returned after two months of absence due to knee injury during the match against Pachuca.

This case continues to rage in the background, but Real Madrid will focus fully on the match of the knockout stages of the Club World Cup against Juventus, which will take place on Tuesday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Rudiger should keep his place in the starting eleven for this match, despite the return of Raul Asencio after his suspension.
