While the Camp Nou renovation project saw its invoice amount to more than 1.4 billion euros, the reimbursement is already on the agenda on the Catalan side. In a press release, FC Barcelona announced to erase more than 420 million of this debt initially due in 2028, using its partner, Goldman Sachs.
“FC Barcelona has closed an issue of bonds worth 424 million euros, allowing the club to refinance a significant part of the debt linked to Spai Barça – even before the male first team officially returns to the Spotify Camp Nou on August 10”said the club in a statement. “This transaction highlights the high demand that FC Barcelona continues to arouse from financial investors, as well as the positive dynamic of the club's financial health, reducing the risk premium to almost half of the initial operation issued in 2023.”
