Kylian Mbappé is not yet back in the Real team because he recovers a virus.

Real Madrid is much more confident about its chances of club World Cup after its comfortable victory against Pachuca, despite a reduced match to ten only seven minutes. Kylian Mbappé is not yet back in the team because he recovers a virus.

The 26-year-old fell ill the day before Real Madrid's debut against Al-Hilal and spent the night on Wednesday at the hospital. Mbappé was released on Thursday, but he is still recovering and has not been endangered by Xabi Alonso against Pachuca on Sunday. He would still be weak and works individually to strengthen himself, in the hope of a return as soon as possible.

Mbappé weight loss surprises supporters

Images of Mbappé training in the gym, while he hopes to come back, have surfaced, and his thinness did not go unnoticed. Compared to its generally carved silhouette, Mbappé seemed much less in shape than usual.

According to Marca, Mbappé lost between four and five kilos last week. The Madrid club thinks it has contracted the virus, described as “acute gastroenteritis” in its medical report in Madrid, before its trip to the United States.

A return against RB Salzburg is possible

He is uncertain for the latest group match of Real Madrid against RB Salzburg, but we hope he will be back in time. It is unlikely that Mbappé is holder, but he could be deemed able to be replacement.

So far, Gonzalo Garcia Torres has done a good job as a replacement, pleading for a maintenance at the club next season. Real Madrid must beat the Austrian team to secure first place in the group, but a draw will probably be enough for the Merengues.
