It was a crucial day for the Girondins de Bordeaux. It had started well, with the announcement by the Commercial Court of the Validation of the Continuation Plan filed on May 27. This allows the Aquitaine club, placed in receivership since July 30, 2024, to continue its activities.
It was then necessary to follow by the perilous passage in front of the DNCG, the financial gendarme of French football. And the news, again could be worse. Thanks in particular to the 9 million euros promised by Gérard Lopez (who provided proof of his transfer), Bordeaux is doing with “only” a supervision of the payroll.
To prevent the Girondins from making follies, the DNCG therefore capped the club's wage bill, at 1.2 million euros according to Sud-Ouest (1.1 million euros according to the Team). The club's budget will be around 7 million euros.

And there is work, because Sud-Ouest recalls that the FCGB has only nine players under contract (Diabaté, Yambéré, Trichard, Grillot, Louveau, Mutyaba, Diallo, Beugre and Merdji), which for the most part do not enter the plans of coach Bruno Irles and the sports director John Williams.
The next important dates? Resumption of training on July 7, and the first day of the championship on August 16. What team? We will see later …
