Paul Pogba spoke about the difficulty he experienced in being suspended for doping and criticized Juventus for his lack of support.

The former Manchester United midfielder was struck by a four -year suspension for doping in February 2024 while he was playing Juventus, but his suspension was then reduced to 18 months on appeal. Pogba then left Juventus, after the early termination of his contract, and is now preparing to join Monaco as part of a free transfer and return to competition after almost two years of absence.

Pogba hopes to make a new start in France with Monaco in order to relaunch his career. Before his transfer, Pogba lifted the veil on his suspension and criticized Juventus for what he considers a lack of support for an extremely difficult period of his career.

Pogba settles its accounts with Juve

Pogba told the program seven to eight from TF1 which he had asked for help from Juventus, including a “treatment” or a “coach”, but that he had not obtained anything. He explained:
“I was not entitled to it. They weren't really with me. It affected me a lot. I didn't understand why. I told myself that I was at war with doping, but not against Juve. »»

Pogba had a broken heart

The midfielder then mentioned the difficulty of this suspension, adding: “I don't understand anything. It was very hard. I was removed something when I was not ready. The sentence and the way it was pronounced … it was a shock. Four years suddenly for doping, without explanation and without anyone listening to me. I also had to leave Italy because my children were right next to the training center. I accompanied them and passed the stadium every day. I couldn't do that anymore. I could no longer train. It was too hard for me. No longer play football, accompany my children, pass in front of the stadium … My children asked me: “Dad, when are you going to play?” When can we go to the stadium? I replied “soon”, even if I knew it was going to be complicated. »»

Pogba now hopes to put behind him in recent difficult years by signing in Monaco. The 32-year-old should sign a two-year contract with the Adi Hutter team, which will play the Champions League during the 2025-2026 season.
