It gets complicated for Rodrygo

Arsenal thought he was holding a reinforcement of choice with Nico Williams, but the track flew away. Barça having taken the advantage on this file, the Gunners turned to another target: Rodrygo. In lack of playing time in Madrid, the Brazilian is on the market. But the operation, however attractive on paper, is already much more complicated than expected.

Real Madrid does not close the door to a departure. Better still: the Merengue would claim around 75 million euros, a sum that the London club is ready to align. Problem: the player's wage requirements. Rodrygo currently receives 12 million euros per year, an amount far above the Arsenal standards, which fears to unbalance its grid.

Rodrygo could spin English.

Beyond the financial aspect, it is also the performance of the player who questions. Author of a halftone season because of fierce competition in Real, the Brazilian is no longer considered essential. Among the Gunners, some doubt about his ability to impose himself quickly in the Arteta system, especially with the presence of options like Gabriel Jesus, Martinelli or Saka.

Rodrygo, a star looking for a way out

Mikel Arteta explores other tracks. The names of Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) and Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP) circulate with insistence. In this context, Rodrygo is no longer the top priority, even if there is a market opportunity to follow according to developments. The file is therefore frozen, but not abandoned.

At only 24, Rodrygo is a turning point. His future will depend as much on his wage claims as on the will of a club to trust him. But at present, it seems stuck between high ambitions and a more complex reality. The transfer window is just beginning, but for Rodrygo, time is running out.
