Olympique de Marseille has revised its position concerning Leonardo Balerdi. Long associated with several Serie A clubs, notably AS Rome and Juventus Turin, the Argentinian central defender did not appear, until recently, among the players deemed intransferable by the Marseille.
The vice-champion of France had even established an estimated starting price at more than 40 million euros for the former player of Borussia Dortmund. A sum that could have become the biggest sale in the history of the Marseille club if it had materialized.
OM closes the door
But according to information from Provence This Friday, OM would have radically changed course. The potential transfer of Balerdi would no longer be on the agenda. The Marseille board would adopt a firm line, the South American is now considered untouchable.
Any offer made for the Argentinian international, under contract until June 2028, should thus be ruled out. A logical choice with regard to the status of Balerdi, which is today one of the executives of the Roberto de Zerbi team.
