Steve Mandanda may not have finished with the lawns. At 40, blown last March, the French goalkeeper, free at the end of the month of June – date of the end of his contract with the Stade Rennais – retains a plethora of options for the rest of his career.

One of the potential fall points of the former porter and captain of Olympique de Marseille would be none other than FC Lorient. According to information from Insider Mohamed Toubache-Ter, the Ligue 2 BKT champion made the former French international his priority to be the number one in his cages.

A key element in the choice of Mandanda

Still according to the same source, the Merlus are currently awaiting the response to their proposal made in Mandanda. A situation which is easily explained, since the main interested party has not yet decided if it will definitively hang the crampons in the coming weeks.

A significant factor could nevertheless orient the decision of the former Marseillais, his wish to remain close to his son, who is currently evolving at the SRFC training center. In this perspective, joining the Lorient ranks to stay in Breton lands, would have everything of a natural choice.
