The crazy sum required by Garnacho

The transfer window promises to be agitated on the side of Old Trafford. Manchester United has just set a starting price for Alejandro Garnacho who may cool many contenders. The Argentinian winger, however announced on departure after a conflict with his coach Ruben Amorim, will not be sold. The Red Devils intend to recover an XXL amount for their nugget, enough to stir up the curiosity of the largest European clubs … but also ask the question of the feasibility of such a transfer this summer.

It is now official: Manchester United calls for 70 million pounds sterling to let Garnacho spin, or nearly 82 million euros. A sum which is explained as much by the will of the club to respect the financial constraints of the PSR (profit and Sustainability Rules) as by the strategic importance of the player. At only 20 years old, Argentinian already attracts lusts: Chelsea had tried his luck in January, without success. But at this price, only a few juggles of the continent can be positioned seriously.

Garnacho’s sale comes in an electric climate. The winger recently experienced a public disagreement with Ruben Amorim, the new manager of the Red Devils. Result: the rupture seems to be consumed and the club is no longer opposed to a departure, provided you touch the jackpot. This situation recalls how delicate young talent management can be, especially when internal tensions are invited into the locker room.

Garnacho, prestigious but careful courtiers

If Chelsea had already come forward, other cadors follow the file carefully. Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are on the lookout, hoping to take advantage of the situation. It remains to be seen whether one of these clubs will be ready to align the colossal sum required by Manchester United. Nothing is less certain, especially since the player's season, despite some lightning, has not yet confirmed an indisputable superstar status.

Garnacho, despite his certain talent, is therefore at the crossroads. The sum requested by Manchester United may well force the contenders to review their strategy, or even to wait. For the English club, the challenge is clear: maximize the value of an asset before turning a page. One thing is certain, the Garnacho soap opera has not finished talking about it on this transfer market.
