If “Zizou” succeeds Didier Deschamps well at the head of the French team, in the wake of the 2026 World Cup in North America, the tricolor legend will start directly with the League of Nations, perhaps in a particularly high group.
The Blues will not be able to find Portugal, Spain and Germany, the other three-standard heads, but will have to avoid the Netherlands in Hats 2, Belgium, England and Norway in Pot 3 or Turkey in hat 4. A group with Denmark, Serbia and Czechia would be much more affordable for tricolor training.
A great novelty for Zidane
Note that, due to the dates of the World Cup 26 (June 11-July 19, 2026), the international calendar will inaugurate an international window of two weeks, from September 21 to October 6, to program four matches in a row! The coach Zidane could therefore take the opportunity to discover his tricolor group for 17 days!
The last two days of the group phase of the Nations League will be contested in November, before the quarter-rounding quarters or the Ligue A/Ligue B dams in March 2027 and the Final Four from June 9 to 13, 2027 at one of the four qualified.
