President of Chelsea from 2003 to 2022, Roman Abramovich experienced an end of a stormy adventure in England, the federation pushing him to sell the club following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, his country of origin. Abramovich announced in March 2022 that he had no other choice than to seek to sell his club, when he was accused of being an ally of the Russian president Vladimir Putin, an allegation which led the British government to sanction it later the same month.
For the first time, the former president spoke in a book retracing the end of his adventure in Chelsea. “Maybe one day there will be a situation where I can attend a match and say a real goodbye, but nothing more than that. Whatever I do, I will always be accused of having malicious intentions. In the end, I acted simply to try to help “said Abramovich, who is now away from any role approaching football. During his mandate in Chelsea, Abramovich raised four Premier League as well as two Champions Leagues.
