Will Paris Saint-Germain really leave the Parc des Princes? The capital's club has in any case published a press release on its official website in which it announced the two finalist sites for the construction of its future stadium. The final announcement should take place in the fall of 2026, which leaves a chance to the Parc des Princes to return to the race since the 2026 municipal elections will have passed and that Anne Hidalgo, who refuses to yield the enclosure, will no longer occupy the headquarters of mayor of Paris.
“”For several months, Paris Saint-Germain has initiated an exploratory approach aimed at identifying potential sites for the establishment of its future stadium. This strategic project responds to the club's desire to benefit from a modern, high -capacity, innovative and sustainable infrastructure, in accordance with the highest international standards, capable of offering the widest public, faithful to the passion for football and the deep attachment to our club. An analysis was carried out to identify the sites most likely to meet the needs of Paris Saint-Germain and our supporters. A new step opens today. The club is now ready to deepen its studies in the municipalities of Massy and Poissy, in close connection with local partners. These two sites had already planned to work on the reconfiguration of their activities, wanted to be able to accommodate a territory project and are artificialized which constitutes a key criterion for Paris Saint-Germain. They will be the subject of studies carried out in consultation with all the stakeholders. The quality of Massy's multimodal service, connected to Paris, Île-de-France, large French metropolises and European capitals, has been a decisive criterion in the analysis. This territory also presents a strong potential for urban and economic development, in connection with the scientific pole of Saclay. The Poissy site, meanwhile, has emerged at a more advanced stage of reflection. Its immediate proximity to the Paris Saint-Germain campus, the local anchoring of the club and the quality of a long-standing partnership, led Paris Saint-Germain to accept the proposal of the local actors to study it in more detail in this new phase of analysis. Additional studies will be initiated in order to be able to assess more precisely the real feasibility of such a project on each of the two sites and build an ambitious project, responsible and meaningful for the club, and for our supporters and local authorities for the next decades. The final project will therefore gradually emerge, thanks to the contribution of a large panel of experts, the mobilization of all the living forces within Paris Saint-Germain and, of course, the close work carried out with the territories. This approach made the success of the Paris Saint-Germain campus and the club is inspired by this experience to engage in this new project. In the meantime, the club will remain resident of the Parc des Princes for several years. At this point, neither of the two sites is privileged. The club will conduct the two studies with the same seriousness, the same rigor and the same opening, in order to make the best possible decision. Other implantation proposals have been examined with the greatest attention but could not be caught. Paris Saint-Germain would like to warmly thank all the local authorities and the project leaders mobilized. Their commitment testifies to the attractiveness of the club and the collective interest of such a project for the territories».
