The 3rd round of the 2026 World Cup playoffs for the Asia area made its verdict. There is one last post to distribute this Tuesday evening, and he had to play between Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The mission was delicate for the Saudis, who had to win by five goals apart to reassemble their unfavorable Goal-Everage. They finished far enough from the account, bowing to Jeddah, after having opened the scoring (1-2).

Australia therefore becomes the 11th qualified for the 2026 World Cup, and will be the sixth Asian representative with Japan, South Korea, Iran and the two new ones, Uzbekistan and Jordan.

But it's not over for Saudi Arabia! The selection led by Hervé Renard will take part in the 4th qualifying round, which will also concern Qatar, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Indonesia. These six teams will be divided into two groups of three.

The winner of each group will be qualified for the World Cup. The second of each group will compete in a dam that qualifiers for another intercontinental dam.
