Now retired from the French team (respectively since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Euro 2024 in Germany), Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud are preparing a large international tournament in the coming days, the Club World Cup organized in the United States (June 14-July 13). The Los Angeles FC will face, during the group phase, Chelsea (next Monday), the Hope of Tunis (June 21) and Flamengo (25).

The Californian club was not originally qualified, but FIFA excluded the Léon club (Mexican club which shares the same owner with Pachuca, another qualified) and organized a dam between the finalist of the Concacaf Champions League 2023 (the LAFC) and the best classified club in the Confederation (the American club). On a discount of Giroud, Denis Bouanga offered the qualification to his team 10 days ago (2-1).

Olivier Giroud therefore finds Chelsea, with whom he won the Champions League (2021) and the Europa League (2019), with a little more benchmarks than a few weeks ago. Now his team's offensive lining, the 38-year-old center-forward scored in the last two MLS matches when he came into play. He is three achievements this season when he had not scored in 14 championship matches last season.

Hugo Lloris towards an absence from the All-Star Game

On the other hand, Hugo Lloris is in a bad pass. The former goalkeeper and captain of the Blues, also 38 years old, is on the descending slope and chains the uncompromising performances with the LAFC. He offered some errors of unworthy assessment of the very high level porter that he was in Tottenham and EDF. For the All-Star Game of the MLS, the native of Nice is not one of the five guards who have obtained the most votes. It is preceded by the Portiers d'Orlando, Minnesota, Vancouver, Dallas and Red Bulls New York.

Lionel Messi, as well as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Denis Bouanga (Luis Suarez is not among the most popular players but can be selected by coaches) will train the MLS All-Stars team who will challenge the Liga MX All-Stars on July 23 in Austin, in Q2 Stadium (20,500 places). Last year, Lloris, included in the workforce of the MLS All-Stars, had found André-Pierre Gignac, his former teammate of the Blues and star of the Mexican championship. The tiger striker has been stopped for several months.
