While the departure of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool seems more and more likely, Bayer Leverkusen is already active to find him a successor. According to Kickerone of the profiles envisaged by the German club is that of Nico Paz. The young Spanish attacking midfielder, trained in Real Madrid, arouses the interest of the managers of the Bayarena residents.

However, the operation will depend on the intentions of the Merengue club. Real Madrid has a buyout option on the Argentinian player, which he could activate for the World Cup. The announced arrival of Franco Mastanuono in the Madrid workforce could however push Nico Paz to look for playing time elsewhere. Leverkusen could then position itself as a strategic destination for its development.
