Real Madrid was cited as the most likely destination for Franco Mastanuono, the young star of River Plate, from last summer, but the interest of Paris Saint-Germain sows doubt about his future.

The 17 -year -old is the apple of the eyes of many high -level clubs. River and Real Madrid have close relationships, and the presence of sports director Santiago Solari, a former River Plate player, has only strengthened these links.

He would have played a key role in the interest in Mastantuono, who would have concluded conditions with the Merengues from last summer. Mastanuono took his first steps in professional football at only 15 years old and has continued to progress.

PSG ready to pay the Liberating Mastanuono clause

The prodigy has a release clause of 45 million euros in its current contract, and so far, River has not shown no intention to lower this price. However, Real Madrid, like its rivals and neighbors, Atlético Madrid, are not willing to pay this price. At 18 months before the end of the mastanuono contract, the Merengues hoped that River would be forced to lower his requirements.

Mastantuono could be on the way to PSG

PSG, on the other hand, would try to seduce Mastanuono and convince him to join the French capital, in particular by agreeing to pay his release clause.

According to El Chiringuito, Real, aware of this interest, has taken action, as Sport reports. He sent emissaries to Buenos Aires to try to conclude an agreement with Mastantuono. It is unknown if it is now willing to pay the release clause or increase its offer – before, it hoped for a transfer around 30 million euros. With hindsight, Endrick Felipe had a release clause of 60 million euros, and the Merengues finally spent 40 million euros for him, including 20 million euros of variable.
