Adrien Rabiot, currently under contract with Olympique de Marseille, has just made a heavy sense decision concerning his future. A surprising and unexpected decision, which could have immediate consequences on its status and popularity at the Vélodrome. While the player recently proclaimed his satisfaction to evolve in the Champions League with Marseille, an old relationship could have him radically changed.

In an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, Rabiot did not close the door to a return to Italy, notably to AC Milan where its former Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, recently posed his suitcases. “Me in Milan? Allegri is like a father. We often be called »said the French environment. A disturbing statement that could indicate a very clear opening to join Allegri in Lombardy, even without the Champions League.

Rabiot ready to turn his back on OM for Allegri?

The 30 -year -old even said : “If I had to choose a club without the Champions League, Milan could be an option, because it is a big club with a magnificent stadium and ambitions. Allegri is someone with whom I have a special relationship. It was fundamental for my growth ”. These words resonate as a warning for Marseille fans, very attached to their French star.

The future of Rabiot in Marseille pending

Despite these ambiguous statements, Rabiot recently affirmed his happiness to OM. He even insisted on his pride in having found the prestigious European competition. But emotional and professional ties with Allegri could be stronger than expected, to the point of compromising its future in the Marseille city.

Since his departure from Turin, Rabiot has had an excellent season with Marseille, establishing himself as a framework of the workforce and natural leader of the locker room. But Italian sirens, especially from a coach with which he maintains deep ties, could prove irresistible.

A decision that divides supporters

This choice would obviously be likely to cause a lively disappointment among OM supporters, seduced by the solid performance of the French international. A premature departure after a single season would be experienced as an affront, especially after the hopes placed in him.

In addition, joining Milan would mean to temporarily abandon the Champions League, a major objective sold by Rabiot itself. A perspective that could further complicate the understanding and acceptance of this controversial decision by Olympian fans. In Marseille, we are now waiting for an official position to clarify the player's intentions.
