Inter Milan in mourning

Inter Milan cries one of his own. Only a few hours from the grand final of the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, this Saturday, May 31, the Milanese training learned the death at the age of 84 of its former president Ernesto Pellegrini.

“President Ernesto Pellegrini has left us. For eleven years, he directed the Inter with wisdom, honor and determination, leaving an indelible mark in the history of our club. FC Internazionale and all Nerazzurri supporters gather around his family, “said the Lombard club.

Italian entrepreneur, Ernesto Pellegrini had bought the Inter in January 1984 for ten billion lire (around 5 million euros today). He had thus become on the 17the
President of the history of the club.

Two UEFA cuts and a series A to its record

President of the Nerazzurri between 1984 and 1995, Ernesto Pellegrini notably won a Serie A and an Italian Super Cup in 1989. He also raised two UEFA cups (ex-Ligue Europa) in 1991 and 1994.

In 2020, he was inducted at the Hall of Fame of Inter Milan and then that of Italian football two years later. There is no doubt that the Nerazzurri will have a thought for him during this Champions League final, scheduled this Saturday evening in Munich.
