PEP joins PEP in Manchester City! Former Liverpool assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders has entered into an agreement to join the Pep Guardiola team in Manchester City. The last position held by Lijnders was that of principal coach of the Austrian club of Red Bull Salzburg, whom he joined after leaving Liverpool alongside Jürgen Klopp last summer. European teams, including Porto, Besiktas and Ajax, had already expressed their interest in Lijnders.

Lijnders joined Liverpool in 2014 as coach under 16 and was promoted to the first team by Brendan Rodgers the following year. Klopp took office in October 2015 and Lijnders retained his post. Working under the direction of the German tactician, the Dutchman helped Liverpool to win the Premier League and the Champions League, as well as the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup twice.
