The departure of Luis Henrique from Olympique de Marseille is becoming clearer. The Brazilian winger, who has never established himself as a manager at OM, is about to join Inter Milan against an amount estimated at 23 million euros, accompanied by 2 million bonuses, according to the team. A great financial operation for the Marseille club.

But this transaction will not only be happy in Marseille. Behind the scenes, another actor in European football can also be delighted: John Textor. The American businessman, owner of Olympique Lyonnais, also holds Botafogo, one of the training clubs of Luis Henrique. Thanks to the solidarity mechanism provided for by FIFA, 5 % of the total amount of the transfer will return to the clubs where the player has been trained.

Três Pasos and Botafogo will therefore share around 1.25 million euros if the bonuses are activated. A modest sum at the scale of an international transfer, but which could have a significant utility for Textor, whose clubs face important financial challenges. In a context where each euro counts, this kind of repercussions is not negligible.

Soon an formalization?

For OM, the main issue remains to quickly conclude the sale, in order to record the back -to -school year before the passage before the DNCG scheduled for June. A formalization in the coming days would make it possible to secure part of the summer budget, while lightening the wage bill. A relief for Pablo Longoria, anxious to balance the accounts before projecting on the transfer window.

During his visit to Olympique de Marseille, Luis Henrique never really managed to establish himself as a key element of the team. Despite some flashes of talent, his irregularity and injuries have often held back to it. This departure marks the end of a mixed adventure for the young Brazilian winger, who leaves the velodrome without having fully convinced, but with the prospect of a new start in Serie A.
