Kylian Mbappé won the European gold shoe for the first time in his career after a brilliant first season in Real Madrid.

The French international left Paris Saint-Germain for Madrid last summer and scored 42 goals in 55 games in all competitions this season. Although his 31 Liga goals are less than 39 goals from Viktor Gyokeres en Primeira Liga for Sporting CP, the 26 -year -old won this coveted honor. One goal is worth two points for the teams of the five major European championships, against 1.5 for clubs outside these divisions, such as the Portuguese championship.

Kylian Mbappé has shone individually this season

Strongly criticized at the start of the season for his performances and his apparent lack of goals, Mbappé has now proven that he had resources and won the European gold shoe. He ends the season with 62 points, ahead of Gyokeres (58.5) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) (29 goals for 58 points).

A royal Mbappé

After his double against Real Sociedad, Mbappé became the only player in the world to win the European gold shoe, the golden shoe of the World Cup and the golden shoe of the Champions League. He is also the first French player to win the European gold shoe since Thierry Henry, who won this trophy twice in a row in 2004 and 2005.

Mbappé finally preceded Robert Lewandowski for the title of Pichichi in Liga, the Barcelona striker who finished with 27 goals after a double during the last day against the Athletic Club. The French international will try to reiterate this feat during the participation of Real Madrid in the Club World Cup next month, with group phase matches against al-Hilal, Pachuca and the Red Bull Salzburg on the program.
