Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are the great disappointed with the outcome of the Premier League… Sunday afternoon, before the 38th and last day, five clubs were still underway for a qualification in the Champions League to accompany the champion Liverpool and his Dolphin Arsenal. The first five in the ranking of the English championship will compete in the C1 League phase next September, England and Spain having obtained additional sesame thanks to the performances of their respective clubs this season.

In a position of strength in 3rd place, Manchester City did not tremble by winning in Fulham (0-2). Without a Kevin de Bruyne left on the bench for his last in England, the formation of Pep Guardiola won in Craven Cottage thanks to a returned by Ilkay Gündogan (21st) then a penalty by Erling Haaland (72nd), author of his 22nd goal in PL. The Cityzens save their season with this qualification, they who also lost the FA Cup final last weekend against Crystal Palace (0-1).

Chelsea snatched her sesame in LDC thanks to a victory in Nottingham (0-1), during the “final” of this English epilogue. Forest could have offered an incredible qualification in LDC by winning at home, but they stumbled on the Blues, who opened the scoring by their young central defender Levi Colwill on a confused action (50th). Chelsea held out, three days before her league conference final against Real Betis.

Nine English clubs in the European Cup

Newcastle is the 5th and last qualified in the Champions League despite his home defeat against Everton (0-1). The Magpies are miraculous because Aston Villa experienced a hell of a nightmare in Old Trafford. Emiliano Martinez was excluded for a scandalous fault, by hitting Rasmus Hojlund outside the surface (45th+1). Morgan Rogers' goal was canceled by the referees, to the Dam of Unai Emery (72nd). Especially since, in the process, Amad Diallo opened the scoring (76th). The Ivorian winger then obtained a penalty that Bruno Fernandes left Christian Eriksen for his last match with MU (88th).

Aston Villa will be satisfied with the Europa League, such as Crystal Palace, the winner of the England Cup, while Nottingham Forest will enter into the Dams of the Conference League, such as RC Strasbourg. With Tottenham, qualified in LDC thanks to his coronation in the Europa League on Wednesday, they will therefore be nine English representatives in the three European cups next season.
