Bayer Leverkusen is now looking to the future: Xabi Alonso has left for Real Madrid and the German club has evaluated several profiles in recent weeks, including that of Cesc Fàbregas. The Spanish coach will finally remain in Como and the Germans therefore took great steps forward for Erik Ten Hag. Bayer Leverkusen seems to have made its final decision, the Dutchman is in pole position and will be the elected official to take over from the new coach of Real Madrid.

Ajax Amsterdam, which dreams of a return from Ten Hag, remains behind. That said, everything has not yet been defined, some details remain to be settled, including the paperwork to initial. The German club has indeed assessed a series of candidates in recent days. Several coaches remain in the running. But Ten Hag is largely in mind since it has already given its green light for an agreement of 2 years as indicated by The Athletic. In the event of a very unlikely reversal of the situation, the Dutch coach could return to Ajax. Francesco Farioli has indeed left the club.
