Mikel Arteta suggested that Arsenal was intended to spend a lot of money this summer, after promising to deliver trophies north of London.

The Gunners have missed all opportunities to win trophies this season, especially by being eliminated in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

But after having qualified again for the competition next season thanks to Sunday's victory against Newcastle, Arteta said that Arsenal would experience a “big summer” to secure a place in 2025-26. After the success against Newcastle, the Basque said: “It will be an important summer for everyone. I think it's time to think, start from scratch and get the bar again, see how we can improve, to be very critical towards each of us and the points that we can improve, and how we can help this club cross a new level. »»

Arteta promises a big summer

“What I can promise is that I will do my best (to win a trophy) and that I will give my life, and that I will draw everyone's best party here. »»

Arteta insisted that he was not satisfied with the recent success of Arsenal, but his team now finished second (unless major surprises in Southampton on the last day) in each of the last three seasons. During his mandate, he invested massively for players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, but has always been below the Gunners' rival teams. It seems to be missing something to allow the northern London club to cross the finish line.

The Gunners are ready to recruit midfielder Martin Zubimendi is his first summer recruit, but the real question relates to the choice of the attacker who will join the Emirates this summer. Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Liam Delap were all expected.
