Already crowned champion of France for several weeks, Paris Saint-Germain has welcomed a team of Auxerre assured of its maintenance, for an evening which will combine the celebration of the title and intensive preparation. Because if this match is without direct accounting stake for Parisians, it constitutes a crucial general rehearsal before two capital finals.
Paris: Between celebration and intensive preparation
After having largely turned his workforce during the victory in Montpellier (4-1) with a team of a record youth, Luis Enrique decided to change his rifle. For the latter at home, the Spanish coach plans to revive a “almost typical” team in order to “put everyone back in the bath” before the final of the French Cup against Reims (May 24) and, above all, the final of the Champions League against Inter Milan. The objective is twofold: “take advantage” of this moment with the supporters and “prepare seriously” the next deadlines, while erasing the memory of the recent defeat against Toulouse. Auxerre as a visitor without pressure
On the side of AJ Auxerre, this last day will be played without the slightest pressure. After brilliantly assured their maintenance following their title in Ligue 2 last season, the men of Christophe Pélissier completed their contract. Installed in the middle of the table (they cannot end lower than 12th), the Burgundians will come to the park to have fun, even if their recent shape is mixed (only one victory in the last five games). The evening will end with the presentation of the hexagoal trophy, in a festive atmosphere that PSG hopes to launch with a good performance.
