Key actors from the international football community have recently gathered in Asunción, Paraguay, to prepare the field for Finalissima. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 75th FIFA congress and brought together representatives of CONMEBOL, UEFA, the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) and the Spanish Royal Football Federation (RFEF).
The long -awaited duel will take place
The summit addressed various strategic and operational aspects necessary for the organization of a major event such as Finalissima. Although the final date and place remain to be determined, the two federations have expressed their commitment to offer a memorable event, like the caliber of nations in competition and the growing importance of this meeting as an elite football show.
UEFA published a press release: ” Representatives of CONMEBOL, UEFA, the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) and the Spanish Royal Football Federation (RFEF) held their first face -to -face meeting for the organization of the Male Finalissima, which will see the Champions of the Copa American 2024 of the Conmebol and the UEFA EUFA 2024.
“The objective was to start coordinating the preparations for this prestigious meeting, which will oppose the national teams of Argentina and Spain this year. The President of the AFA president, Claudio Tapia, and the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzan, as well as the administrative teams of CONMEBOL and UEFA were present in Reunion. During the meeting, key points such as institutional objectives, organizational responsibilities, logistics planning, the competition calendar of the two teams and the provisional dates of the match were discussed.
A duel at the top
Argentina approaches Finalissima as the title champion of the competition, after winning the title in 2022 by dominating Italy 3-0 at the Wembley stadium. This edition marked the revival of this intercontinental meeting, designed to oppose the best players in Europe to the best players in South America.
