“Comunicado Oficial: Huijsen”. Not content with having assured himself as a free player of Trent Alexander-Arnold and entrusting the reins of his team to Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid formalized the recruitment of Dean Huijsen on Saturday morning. The 20 -year -old central defender, Spanish international since March, was bought in Bournemouth for 50 million pounds, or 59 million euros. It's probably cheaper than William Saliba!

The Madrid press had announced for several weeks that Saliba was the priority of Casa Blanca in order to strengthen the central defense of the Merengues. The French international was the perfect target. At 24, he established himself as one of the best defenders of the Premier League with the Gunners. In Madrid, he would have found his teammates from the French team Ferland Mendy, Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavonga and Kylian Mbappé.

Real therefore did not wish to spend the 90 or even 100 million claimed by Arsenal and therefore broke its piggy bank for the much less experienced Huijsen, which has only one full season in Bournemouth in the legs (34 games, 3 goals). Trained at Juventus, he was loaned to Roma for five months last year and was then recruited by the Cherries for 18 million euros.

A Fan of Sergio Ramos rather than Saliba

Born in Amsterdam to Dutch parents, Huijsen grew up in Marbella (famous seaside resort of Andalusia) from his five years. He evolved in U17 and U18 from the Netherlands before obtaining Spanish nationality in February 2024 and joining Spanish hopes the next month, he who has sergio ramos.

Dean Huijsen will have to convince in the eleven Madrilenic at the Club World Cup (June 14-July 13) while Antonio Rüdiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba are all recovering. Mbappé and his teammates will challenge al-Hilal, Pachuca and the Red Bull Salzburg in the group phase.
