A lion from Cameroon has gone. Emmanuel Kundé died Friday at the age of 68. The Indomitable Lions lose a player who marked the selection, one of the best and emblematic on the African continent.

Defensive midfielder, Emmanuel Kundé displayed 127 capes between 1979 and 1992 (15 goals scored). Winner of the African Cup of Nations in 1984 and 1988, we also remember him on a more international level.

Andre Kana Biyik, Stephen Tataw, Emmanuel Kunde and Victor Ndip, surround Diego Maradona during Argentine-Cameroon, opening match of the 1990 World Cup.

Emmanuel Kundé participated in two World Cups. In 1982, alongside “doctor” Abega, Roger Milla or Thomas N'Kono, Cameroon did not lose a group game (three draws) and was eliminated unlike goals.

1990, Kundé wore the captain's armband when the indomitable lions rose in the quarter -finals of the World Cup organized in Italy, beaten by England. They had caused a blast by winning the opening match (1-0) against Argentina by Diego Maradona (photo), title holder.

The UNFP also paid tribute to Emmanuel Kundé, recalling that he had worn the colors of two French clubs: the Laval stadium and the Stade de Reims, between 1987 and 1989.
