It is a victory synonymous with relief, at the end of the night, like a symbol, when the evening stretched when the curtain had been drawn everywhere. On Saturday evening, Olympique de Marseille secured its place for the podium by winning a very precious success on the lawn of Le Havre (2-1).

This result allows the Roberto de Zerbi team to secure its place on the Ligue 1 podium, synonymous with direct qualification for the next campaign of
Champions League. A mission accomplished for OM, which had set this goal at the start of the season. The most difficult starts.

Roberto de Zerbi, a characteristic technician.

Exercise 2024-25 laid the foundations for a very oiled game project under the supervision of Roberto de Zerbi. But there are many areas of progression, and certain limits have pushed OM in its entrenchments, especially in the defensive sector. So what can we expect next season?

OM: The Word to La Défense

In the current state of things, the workforce could be fragmented into 3 groups: the essentials, the undesirable, and an intermediate category which would include all the potential for satisfactory offers. In the Caste des Tauliers, we will find, except reversal of the situation, the guardian Geronimo Rulli, the midfielders Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Adrien Rabiot, and the attacker Amine Gouiri, factor X of this return phase. A list to which should be added to appreciable old elements such as the current captain Leonardo Balerdi, the Swiss knife Valentin Rongier and the inconsistent but decisive Mason Greenwood.

To complete this spine, reinforcements are expected in several lines, starting with the defense, too porous this season. The names of Aymeric Laporte or Facundo Medina have started to circulate. The Spanish European Champion and the Argentinian Farw of the Lens Racing Club would be seduced by the project. According to the system chosen by De Zerbi, the possibility of seeing a right piston land is also studied, especially if Luis Henrique leaves Marseille for a lucrative offer. Rodrigo Huescas, a young Mexican revealed to FC Copenhagen this season, looks like an ideal replacement. In the edition, OM, well supplied, does not forbid anything. Movements are also expected in the offensive line, where Hamza Imagane has been targeted to bring added value. The small transfer window has not yet started, but the Marseille supporters have not finished dreaming.

An eleven possible for OM next season
: Rulli – Balerdi, Laporte, Medina – Huescas, Højbjerg, Rongier, Merlin – Greenwood, Gouiri, Rabiot.
