Roberto Firmino will leave Al-Ahli this summer, the president of the Saudi club having confirmed an agreement to terminate his contract.

Firmino contributed to the success of Al-Ahli in the Asian Champions League, but doubts were raised as to its future at the club at the start of the year, the club having decided not to register it for the second half of the Saudi pro League season.

Firmino is over!

There is one year of contract in Firmino, but the president of the club, Khaled al-Ghamdi, told the Saudi media that an agreement had been reached with the 33-year-old allowing him to leave after two years in the Middle East.

Firmino to a return to Brazil

The former Liverpool striker was not up to the expectations in Pro League, but he played an important role in the continental success of Al-Ahli, scoring six goals and delivering seven assists for the Asian champions, including two assists during the 2-0 final victory against Kawasaki front.

Firmino would already be looking for a new club and Ben Jacobs reports that he is actively seeking to organize a return to his native Brazil, where Flamengo could try to recruit him. Olympique de Marseille, notoriously interested in the player, would be well inspired to try his luck.
