Real Madrid is going through a particularly difficult period at the end of the 2024-2025 season. The recent defeat (4-3) against FC Barcelona during the last Clasico practically sealed the fate of the championship, leaving the Merengues seven points from their Catalan rival with only three remaining days. Despite a hat -trick by Kylian Mbappé, this defeat highlighted the team's defensive gaps, exacerbated by a series of injuries affecting key players such as Vinícius Júnior, Lucas Vázquez, Carvajal, Militão, Rüdiger, Alaba, Mendy and Camavanga. These absences forced Carlo Ancelotti to constant tactical adjustments, without managing to stabilize the team. The situation is all the more worrying since Real Madrid has conceded more goals this season than the previous one, illustrating a weakened defense. This season has also been marked by internal tensions and criticism of technical staff.

The training method of Antonio Pintus, responsible for performance, is questioned, some deeming it overwhelmed and potentially responsible for the injury cascade. In addition, tactical disagreements and individual frustrations, especially on the part of Jude Bellingham, emerged, the latter expressing his dissatisfaction with his repositioning on the ground since the arrival of Mbappé. Faced with this situation, a major change is looming: Carlo Ancelotti will leave the club to take the reins of the Brazilian selection, and Xabi Alonso is expected to succeed him. Alonso, with his successful experience in Bayer Leverkusen, will be responsible for rebuilding the team, with targeted reinforcements in defense and in the midfield, in order to restore Real Madrid its competitiveness on the national and European scene. Despite a loyalty displayed at the club, he recently expressed doubts about his future, declaring that if he did not feel more important, he would consider a departure. This uncertainty occurs while his performances have declined, with only a goal scored in the last 22 games, and a waste of playing time for the benefit of young talents like Arda Güler. The increased competition in attack, in particular with the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the extension of Vinícius Júnior, also complicated his position within the team.

A star already wants to fold luggage!

Real Madrid is going through a difficult period with two of its Brazilian stars, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes. The Merengues are obviously disappointed with the performance of Vinicius in 2025, a year which was far from expectations. After losing the Ballon d'Or, its performances decreased considerably and its contribution during the recent Clásico was disappointing. The board of directors and the technical staff hope that Xabi Alonso will be able to regain its best form. In the case of Rodrygo, the situation is even more tense. Two weeks ago, we were talking about his desire to leave the club, but now the situation is more serious: the Brazilian striker not only plans to leave, but he simply does not want to play for Real Madrid. According to sources close to the club, Rodrygo feels moved after the media explosion around Jude Bellingham and the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, who created a break with Vinicius.

Rodrygo is currently confined to him, clearly angry at having lost the notoriety he hoped to have with Vinicius. With Xabi Alonso about to take over, his continuity is questioned, because the Basque coach seems to want to rely more on Bellingham, Mbappé and Vinicius, while Rodrygo's relationship with his teammates has deteriorated considerably. The future of the two players will depend on the management that Alonon can give to the team, but for the moment, the club does not exclude the departure of Rodrygo, tired of the constant challenges of the Brazilian striker. Although Real Madrid previously considered Rodrygo as intransferable, current circumstances could encourage the club to reconsider its position. The player, under contract until 2028, remains attached to Real Madrid, but his future will depend on the evolution of his role in the team and the strategic decisions of the club for next season.
