Erling Haaland is “ready” to resume the game after more than a month of absence, before the shock of Manchester City against Southampton.
Speaking at his press conference this afternoon, Pep Guardiola confirmed that star striker Haaland was ready to play on Saturday, after seven absence games due to an ankle injury contracted during the FA Cup quarter-finals, won by City in Bournemouth.
Erling Haaland finally returns
Haaland's return will certainly strengthen the Citizens' chances of qualifying for the Champions League for the 15th consecutive season. The Guardiola team is in third place in the championship and only needs six points in their last three championship games to qualify for the European Cup next season.
Guardiola said: ” He is ready. He is ready, he is in good shape. To start? We will see tomorrow. »»
Man City on mission
Haaland scored 21 goals in 28 premier appearances this season, but City continued its rise in its absence, collecting 16 points in 18 games and reaching the FA Cup final.
After their visit to St. Mary's, City will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on May 17 before the meetings against Bournemouth and Fulham decide their fate in the league.
