Three potential targets to replace Kevin de Bruyne were mentioned, Manchester City wishing to replace the legend of the club this summer.

The former teammate from De Bruyne to Chelsea, Florent Malouda, listed three players who, according to him, are ideal replacements for the legendary Belgian. He said Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) or Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) would be the obvious choices, while he would personally target Youri Tielemans (Aston Villa). It is unlikely that Wirtz will end in Manchester, because he would rather have signed an agreement with Bayern Munich.

De Bruyne has become one of the best players in the world in City, with 108 goals and 177 assists in 418 games for the club. The Pep Guardiola team won everything during its visit to Etihad Stadium, Bruyne having played an essential role in the six first league titles won and the very first triumph of the club in the Champions League in 2023.

De Bruyne, the end of an era

Malouda said in an exclusive interview with Racing Tipster: “ Recruiters (from City) can find talent in many countries, but in Europe, Gibbs-White and Wirtz are the most obvious choices to replace Kevin de Bruyne. »»

“Manchester City will have a lot of trouble replacing Bruyne. I don't think City had prepared enough for the end of the season at the Etihad Stadium. The workforce is overloaded in certain places

“I think they should opt for a player who already experiences in the Premier League. I would do it. I would choose the Belgian player Youri Tielemans, who plays at Aston Villa. I think in the midfielder, Manchester City needs this type of player. »»

De Bruyne will have many clubs ready to recruit him this summer, notably Liverpool, freshly crowned Premier League champion, which would be interested. He will try to finish his stay in Manchester in style, with a FA Cup final in perspective and a qualification for the Champions League as a major objective in the last weeks of the season.
