LDC: a referee with a sulfur past to direct PSG-Arsenal

Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain has an appointment with its history. Opposed to Arsenal for his semi-final return from the Champions League, the capital's club, winner 1-0 on the outward journey, will have the opportunity to qualify for a second C1 final, five years after Lisbon Final 8. To arbitrate this return round, UEFA has appointed German Felix Zweyer. He will be assisted by his compatriots Robert Kempter and Christian Dietz.

A surprising choice since Zwayer, who arbitrated the last Liverpool-Lille, has never directed meetings counting for quarters, half or a final of the Champions League. In addition, Zweyer's past is tainted with a sentence of six months in prison in 2005 for corruption in matches of the German third division. A choice of referee who contrasts with the decision to put the Polish Szymon Marciniak on the inter-FC Barcelona match.
