Soon the end? After nearly two mixed seasons in Chelsea, Christopher Nkunku seems more than ever to a departure. The French international striker, trained at Paris Saint-Germain and revealed at the RB Leipzig, is expected to experience a fourth club in the coming months. According to

Blues has reached a point of no return, despite a current contract until 2029.
Since his arrival for more than 60 million euros in the summer of 2023, Nkunku has never really succeeded in establishing himself as a must Stamford Bridge. In two seasons, he scored 17 goals in all competitions, including 14 this year. But his recent performances, disturbed by injuries and a positioning often far from his favorite post, weakened his situation. Last symbol of his downgrading: his non-conqueror against Fulham (1-2), for the benefit of the young Tyrique George, from the Academy.
“You have to make decisions”
Asked at a press conference, coach Enzo Maresca assumed his choices. “Since the first day, I have been trying to do what is best for the club. I know that Christopher cost dearly and that Tyrique leaves the training center, but sometimes we must make difficult decisions, based on what we observe on a daily basis ”, explained the Italian technician.
Already approached by Arsenal and Bayern Munich during the last winter transfer window, Nkunku then chose to remain faithful to Chelsea. This summer, these two European giants should come back to the charge. For his part, the player would now seriously consider a departure, with a clear priority: join a qualified team for the Champions League.
This ambition, the blues are not able to insure him since they are for the time being 6th in the Premier League. Chelsea, who begins a new cycle under the leadership of Enzo Maresca, could therefore lose one of his most talented elements, however recruited to embody the renewal of the London club.
