Arsenal would be ready to test Barcelona's determination to keep its right side Jules Koundé with an offer of 55 million pounds sterling.

The Sun reports that Arsenal is ready to take an important course to strengthen his defense by proposing the Barcelona defender, who played a crucial role in the quest for the hat -trick this season.

Koundé is under contract until 2027 and has established itself as a key element of the Barcelona defense. He played 51 games in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and delivering eight assists. However, a substantial offer for its services could interest Barça, because a sale would further improve a financial situation which is now less perilous.

A generous offer

Although he became a regular right back, Koundé expressed his preference to play in central defense. Obtaining this opportunity at Arsenal would be difficult, William Saliba and Gabriel probably remaining the privileged duo.

Jules Koundé interests Arsenal

Gabriel is absent due to an injury to the hamstrings, but should be restored for the start of next season. However, the versatility of Koundé, capable of playing right and in the middle, would give Mikel Arteta more flexibility to deal with possible injuries in the back.

Speculations on a transfer are probably far from the concerns of Koundé, Barça facing Real Madrid in the King Cup final on Saturday, before facing the Inter in the semi-final of the Champions League on Wednesday. Arsenal faces Paris Saint-Germain in the other semi-final on Tuesday. It is very possible that Arsenal confronts Koundé in the final in Munich next month. This match could determine its level of aggressiveness in its quest for its services.
