Ryan Giggs called Cristiano Ronaldo as a “best” player with whom he played Manchester United, even if he had trouble adapting to England at the start.

Gigggs spoke with another former teammate, Rio Ferdinand, in the last episode of Rio Meets. The most titled Premier League of all time was very complimentary to Ronaldo, while suggesting that the young winger had first had trouble managing the physical and intensity of English football. Giggs remembers an incident in training, where Sir Alex Ferguson had criticized him for having attacked Ronaldo too much, which had encouraged the coach to qualify the Portuguese superstar as ” special player ”.

However, it seems that the legendary coach has not always been so protective. Perhaps to harden the unpredictable winger, Ferguson did not whistle on Ronaldo in training if the young player was deemed too touched. In the end, it made Tilt for Ronaldo, who went from a show -off and cunning to the constant goal machine that we have seen in the past 20 years. Giggs described Ronaldo as the best player with whom he has ever played, placing his impact on the exceptional performances of Eric Cantona.

Ronaldo abused by Ferguson

Gigggs said about Ronaldo: ” It's the best. I remember having shaped in a match this winter, having eliminated Cristiano and the manager got angry. I said to him, “It's just a tackle”, and he replied: “I know, but be careful. He's a special player ”. »»
