The dates of the summer transfer window have just fallen! The Board of Directors of the Professional Football League (LFP), met on Tuesday, April 23, acted the final dates of the transfer market for the next Ligue 1. The French body has decided to open a transfer period
“Exceptional”.

Initially, a ten-day window will be opened from June 1 to 10, due to the club’s World Cup in the United States (from June 14 to July 13). The goal is to
“Allowing each association of a club participating in this competition to have a transfer window before the start of the competition”. This period is mainly concerned, PSG, the only French club participating in this competition.

A second “usual” transfer window

“Following the complementary period linked to the Club World Cup and to respect the limit of days authorized by FIFA”the usual summer transfer window will start on Monday June 16 and it will end on Monday September 1 at 8 p.m. Monday. Finally, the winter transfer window will start on Thursday January 1, 2026 and will end on Monday February 2, 2026 at 8 p.m.

The movements can be formalized from the first day of the opening of the transfer market. The signatures concluded during the exceptional period for the Club World Cup will be counted apart, in order to comply with the regulations.

This year, the French dates align with those of the Premier League, which will notably see Chelsea and Manchester City represented across the Atlantic this summer. On the German side, the Bundesliga even drawn earlier, with an express window from June 1 to 10, just to allow Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to arm their workforce before the big deadline.
