Arda Güler saves Real, Courtois closes the door

It was neither brilliant, nor fluid, nor really reassuring. But it's a victory. And sometimes, that's all we ask in April. In a chopped, rough and trampling match, Real Madrid extricated itself from Getafe's trap thanks to a light strike from Arda Güler and the parades of a still imperial courtyard.

An eleven bis, a minimum attack

Ancelotti had sent a clear message: priority to the cut. Only five usual holders to kick off, bets like Endrick or Fran García, and above all, the opportunity given to Arda Güler. And it was he who responded. In the 38th minute, the Turkish inherits a badly pushed ball at the entrance to the surface. Without trembling, he rolled up law – his weak foot – and surprises David Soria. A goal that changes everything, in a match hitherto poor in occasions but rich in rough contacts.

Getafe faithful to himself, courteous at the top

The Getafe de Bordalás has not changed: high pressing, dense defense, and a fierce desire to bite the opposing ankles. The plan almost operated. Mayoral and Arambarri had the opportunities, but the first lacked sharpness, the second sinned by excess of precision. And then there was courteous. A reflex stop on a heel of Peter Federico, a dive against Álvaro Rodríguez… The Belgian once again held the standing white house.

An end of the match at ten and an alert for Camavonga

Real could have folded the match earlier: Brahim saw his shot postponed on the line, Endrick missed the mark and Vinicius made opposing defense miseries. But clumsiness and Ancelotti choices have maintained the suspense. And to top it off, Camavong had to go out injured, leaving Madrid to finish ten. Victory therefore, but without euphoria. Real remains alive in liga, but leaves some feathers there.
