The summer transfer window has not yet started, but Olympique de Marseille is already found in the heart of a burning soap opera. According to the Spanish media Fichajes, a large European club is ready to break its piggy bank for Mason Greenwood. And not just any: Liverpool would be willing to put up to 80 million euros to enlist the English striker, author of a contrasting season on the Canebière.

With 18 goals in the French elite, Greenwood displays flattering statistics. No OM player since Didier Drogba had had such a success in his first season. However, everything was not pink: periods of irregularity, criticism on his tactical behavior, and a sneer -teeth shape. Despite this, English remains an essential part in the Zerbi Roberto system, and its potential is no exception to anyone.

Record offer, toxic clause: the OM nightmare with Greenwood

Recently, Greenwood closed the door to a transfer to Saudi Arabia despite an offer around 90 million euros. A strong choice, motivated by his desire to continue to evolve at the highest European level. Liverpool's interest is therefore a timely. The English club sees in him an additional profile to energize his attack, and the proposed sum could convince OM, despite an unfavorable clause with Manchester United.

A record offer for Greenwood that runs the heads

If Marseille agrees to sell, only 50 % of the amount of the transfer would come back to him, the rest being intended for Manchester United. This constraint strongly limits the potential profits of the club, which will have to make a choice between partial financial gains and sports ambition maintained with Greenwood.

With a European online qualification of sight and found ambitions, OM will have to decide. Keep Greenwood to cross a sports course or give in to the temptation of an XXL check? Response in the coming weeks.
