Manchester United was beaten 1-0 by the Wolves on Sunday, the last embarrassing episode of a disastrous season. The club is now equal in points with the Molinine resident team, previously relegated, and the victory of the Wolves condemned the Red Devils to their eighth home defeat in the Premier League. The last time they had experienced such disappointing at home was in 1962-1963, with nine defeats and a 19th place in a first division championship at 21 teams.
A trophy all the same?
During the 1962-1963 season, United won the FA Cup and its coach Ruben Amorim can still end the season with a trophy. The Red Devils remain in the Europa League and will face the Athletic Club in the semi-finals, but their form in the league is still catastrophic.

Five days from the end of the championship, United can reach a maximum of 53 points. The best place possible is eighth place, even if it would require winning all the remaining matches.
United will face Bournemouth next weekend before facing Athletic in the first leg of the Europa League in San Mamés.
