Tolisso, is it finished?

The blow at the worst time. Three days after his red card in the quarter-final return of the Europa League against Manchester United, which led to the incredible elimination of OL in Old Trafford (5-4 AP), Corentin Tolisso gave himself a sprain to the right knee, Sunday during the derby against Saint-Etienne in Geoffroy-Guichard. The season may be almost over for the 30-year-old French international midfielder.

Tolisso was the victim of a huge fault of Lucas Stassin after 22 minutes of play in the cauldron. The Greens goalscorer walked on the right heel of the former Bayern player, who collapsed on the ground, screaming in pain. Mr. Letexier, the meeting referee, then offered a new pathetic sequence this season. He quickly sent a red card in Stassin, but his video assistant offered to review the images and Mr. Letexier decided to remove the red to give a warning to the Belgian striker.

In great suffering, since his right knee turned when his foot was blocked, Corentin Tolisso came out on a stretcher and the Lyonnais medical staff then feared a break in a knee ligament. “The so -called drawer tests on his knee have not revealed a serious injury a priori”, finally indicated
Progresswhich thus evokes a sprain. Which remains a very bad news.

Tolisso will miss shocks

If Tolisso will not be dismissed from the field for several months, he will still have to rest for several weeks. He left to miss the receptions of Rennes and Lens then the trip to Monaco, before perhaps resuming for the last day against Angers, on May 17. These are already a great blow for the formation of Paulo Fonseca in the race for European qualification, Tolisso being essential this season in the game and the finish (6 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1).

After the drama in Manchester, Olympique Lyonnais is still in the race to finish on the podium or in the qualifying top 7 for a European cup, remaining in the retro of OM, Monaco, Lille and Nice.
