Since the start of the season, Spanish clubs have been tested. While Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have been taking part in all competitions since August, the pace is hard to follow on the physical level for the two monuments of Spanish football. In recent weeks, the two rivals have also complained many times of an intense calendar which makes them chain matches almost every three days. The Catalan club, still in the running in the Champions League, will still experience a difficult end of the physical season. At the same time, the Spanish Football Federation and League do nothing to make matters worse. Faced with this lack of understanding of Iberian football bodies, Barça went up to the niche this Saturday. In a scathing press release, the Blaugranas castigated the lack of understanding of the RFEF and the League:
“”FC Barcelona has already expressed its disagreement this season with the criteria established by the Spanish Football League (LFP) and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) with regard to the first team dates and the first team. We consider, as our coach expressed on Friday, which we fully support and with whom we are in perfect agreement, that the ruling bodies of Spanish football should be more attentive to the teams which, like ours, participate in the three competitions in the last part of the season. This problem is not new and, without minimizing the difficulty of organizing a calendar with so many matches, FC Barcelona will continue to defend its interests before the national and international football bodies so that the sports calendar makes more sense. Thus, FC Barcelona will file a formal complaint with football regulation bodies in order to avoid situations that could be harmful to the real stars of the world of football, the players.»»
