On September 25, Raphaël Varane retired. After a rich player career haloed by a slew of titles between Real Madrid and the French team, the 31 -year -old central defender decided to withdraw after a recurring knee problem. Despite his retirement, the player trained in the RC Lens remains a voice that carries and does not hesitate to express themselves on many subjects which are close to his heart. In parallel, the 2018 world champion does not hesitate to carry out actions related to the world of football. On AS Hellemmes facilities, his first amateur club, Raphaël Varane visited the children taking part in the Varane internship which took place from April 7 to 11. A particular internship since a partnership has been established with the training of Serie A, Como, which is the last professional club in Varane. Andrea Le Borgne, a French player playing with the team coached by Cesc Fabregas, was also present for the occasion.

Asked about his passage during this internship, the former Manchester United did not hide his joy towards this internship which gathered 67 children aged between 10 and 12 years old during the last weekend: “It is a pleasure to be here, to share moments of simplicity in the field with children. There is always a friendly, warm atmosphere during the Varane internships and our primary will, it is to transmit our strong values to them: work, respect, humility and ambition. Children are curious and happy to live this experience, and this internship is special since it connects my first club, AS Hellemmes, with Como 1907, where I completed my professional career. It is a whole course and precious memories that resurface. ” A great initiative that could allow, why not, to hatch the next Raphaël Varane.
