Turning Paris, gifted gifted, Mendes Liberator: PSG dominated Villa (3-1) and advances with ambition towards the semi-finals.

The Apnea Prince Parc. A known, almost ritual scene. And yet, PSG continues to rewrite its own codes. This Wednesday evening, for this quarter -first leg of the Champions League, the Parisians still offered a conquering, stunning partition, almost successful against Aston Villa. A 3-1 success which could have been wider, but which, above all, marks the spirits by its mental solidity and its collective richness.

A dominating PSG but first punished against the course of the game

Because Paris trembled. Against all logic, Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 35th minute, on its first real foray. A loss of a preventable ball from Nuno Mendes, a dazzling transition, and Morgan Rogers arose at the second post to crucify Gianluigi Donnarumma. The kind of scenario which, in the past, had been able to wave the Parisian building.

But this 2025 version of PSG is from another wood. Less inclined to vertigo. Four minutes after the cold stroke, Désiré Doué, tenured in place of Barcola, turned off the fire of a masterpiece. A lonely action, part of his corridor, concluded by a coiled strike in the right in the skylight. A large response, in a big night.

Gifted and Kvaratskhelia, the men of Parisian revolt

On the recovery, Paris returned with the same intensity, and this time, the reward fell. In the 49th minute, Kvaratskhelia, more incisive than ever, submitted two defenders of a raging hook before unchecking a cross strike from the left under the bar. The Georgian emissary, sometimes discreet against Liverpool, had just offered Paris a deserved advantage, but still insufficient.

Mendes stab to seal a precious victory

So Paris continued to attack, to push, without disuniting. And in the 92nd, the last flash: launched in the back of the defense by Dembélé, Nuno Mendes washed his fault of the first act by a sublime sequence, Crochet-Bedy Limpid law. 3-1. A margin more in tune with the content. And an incandescent atmosphere in a park again theater of great ambitions.

The score could have swelled, between two disputed situations not sanctioned in the surface and the judgments of Martinez. But the main thing is there. Paris holds a real Birmingham front mattress. And this PSG, in unison of his talents and his ambitions, looks a little more like a champion in the making.
