PSG: Who to sacrifice among the three jewels of the attack?

PSG faces a cruel headache: an ultra-decisive trio for only two places. Luis Enrique will have to sacrifice a strong man.

At 24 hours from the quarter -final to go against Aston Villa, Luis Enrique finds himself faced with a luxury but no less cruel dilemma: how to keep three attackers in great shape in a system that leaves only two alongside Ousmane Dembelé? Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola form a formidable trio, aligned 23 times in 2025, for a total of 64 decisive actions. Problem: faced with a disciplined and compact English team, one of them could be sacrificed. This is what Le Parisien reports in his edition of the day.

Untouchable Dembélé at PSG, the under tension hierarchy

Difficult to imagine Luis Enrique happens from Ousmane Dembélé, the strong man of 2025 with 24 goals to his counter in all competitions. The former Barcelona has regained regularity and influence that makes him an indisputable holder. There would therefore remain two options to be filled in the eleven type to complete the front trident. Barcola and Gouté, two young people who are both decisive, complementary and precious in the withdrawal, are favorites to be established. But there is no guarantee that this is the case.

Luis Enrique will be in trouble to compose his eleven of PSG.

If DembĂ©lĂ© seems protected, the battle for third place in attack promises to be intense. Barcola is today the best passer on the continent since January with 14 assists, while GouĂ© added 8 goals and 8 assists to his credit. Their agreement with DembĂ©lĂ© seems natural and that is why they hold the rope to start. The Spanish press even evokes a “magic trio” that Europe is starting to fear.

A strategic choice … or a risk of fracture?

But the equation is still complicated with the probable tenure of KHVICHA KVAratskhelia, still present during the big appointments. The Georgian winger, less statistically successful, remains a trusted man for Luis Enrique in high -voltage matches. His presence would mechanically skip one of the three French people, a decision that many would describe as unfair.

By opting for Kvara alongside DembĂ©lĂ©, the Spanish coach deprives himself of an ultra-productive element, but he favors experience and solidity. The final choice will be scrutinized, and could weigh heavily in the event of failure on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether the coach will agree to cut himself from a player on fire … or if he will modify his diagram to integrate them all.
