Last season, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) did everything to recruit Ancelotti, but the mission finally failed, the Italian having stayed in Real Madrid.
However, the situation could have been very different if the Merengues had not experienced a fantastic end of the season.
Ancelotti did not lead Brazil
Speaking on the Podcast Charla (via Marca), the Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazario confided in the pursuit of Ancelotti, revealing that Real Madrid would have limited him if he had not won the Liga and the Champions League.
“It was not a fantasy, because I contributed to the process by chatting with Carlo, but it was not released. Real Madrid did not release him. After the negotiations, everything was blocked because he had not obtained authorization from Real Madrid. If he hadn't won anything, Real would have turned him and Ancelotti would have come, but he won the Champions League and remained one more year. »»
Ancelotti towards the start this summer?
Ancelotti himself confirmed that he had discussed with Brazil to train their national team, but for the moment, this is not an option he is considering. He is currently under contract with Real Madrid until the end of next season, and provided that he is not transferred this summer to give way to Xabi Alonso, he should stay at the club until then.
At that time, Brazil could rekindle its interest in Ancelotti, especially if it found itself again without coach after the 2026 World Cup in North America. Anyway, all parties focus on the future for the moment.
