Surveyed by Adam Silver, President of the National Basketball Association (NBA), PSG is one of the privileged targets of the North American Basketball League, which has recently been trying to create a championship in Europe. According to The Parisianthe leaders of the NBA contacted their counterparts from Qatar Sports Investments, the main shareholder of PSG, to offer them to create a basketball franchise in Paris.
The NBA envisages by the 2026/2027 season, the creation of a championship using European teams, such as Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain. Across the Atlantic, the NBA shows a real interest in major cities in which are renowned football clubs, such as Paris, Munich, Manchester, London and Milan. Two options are envisaged, either the creation of a deductible from zero, or the acquisition of Paris Basketball, current 3rd of Betclic Elite.
