Lyon is ready to sell Rayan Cherki while Liverpool watches him as a replacement for the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

The 20 -year -old playmaker has made a remarkable season with Lyon, showing creativity and offensive flair. Having contributed eight goals and 18 assists in all competitions, he is considered one of the brightest young talents in France.

According to The Sun, although the Liverpool recruitment team watches near Cherki, they are not the only European giants to follow its progress. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both expressed serious interest in the French international under 21, while Italian clubs also closely follow its development.

Cherki's ability to control the game, create opportunities and be decisive in key moments was highlighted when the French U21 beat the English U21 5-3 in a recent friendly match. The young midfielder was decisive in victory, scoring a goal and providing two assists, while dazzling with his characteristic competence and flair.

Cherki's reputation has increased in recent seasons, attracting the attention of several clubs. Fulham and Crystal Palace were both wishing to secure its services, the cotagers making a serious attempt to sign it in January 2024. However, their efforts failed because Lyon rejected their offer. Borussia Dortmund also attempted its luck during the transfer window in January 2025, by making an offer of 19 million pounds by believing that this would activate a release clause in its contract. However, Lyon refused the proposal, clearly indicating that they would not let it go in the middle of the season.

Despite an initial resistance to sell it, Lyon would now have reached an agreement with Cherki that they will not block a transfer once the season is over. With its current contract until the summer of 2026, the French club is aware that this summer represents a major opportunity to monetize one of their most precious assets.

Cherki will have the chance to even more seduce potential contenders when Lyon faces Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the Europa League on April 10 and 17.
